It’s no secret that many people all over the world like to celebrate the Christmas holiday with a little tipple. Whether it be bucks fizz with brunch, a nice glass of wine or a beer with your Christmas Dinner or the brandy poured over the Christmas pudding.
We at DISCsimple believe that you can find the DiSC in every scenario and we have found some festive cocktails that are suited to each style and wanted to share the recipes with you!

D Style – The Grinch
(We’re not saying they don’t like Christmas – the opposite in fact)
A flavourful, fruity and eye-catching cocktail. Matching the green of our D styles, this cocktail has interesting flavours that you’d easily be able to identify! With delicious melon, lemon-lime and cherry flavours that directly hit your tastebuds, this easy, quick to make no fuss cocktail (only 5 minutes) is a great beverage for any D style this Christmas.
All you need to do it:
For one drink:
- 50 mls Midori Liqueur
- 25mls of clear rum or alternatively triple sec
- 150 mls lemonade or sprite (OR lemon-lime soda water for a lighter version)
- 1 maraschino cherry
Add the Midori Liqueur and the rum to a lowball glass with ice. Then top it off with the lemonade and stir gently to mix the flavours together. Add the maraschino cherry and enjoy!
I Style – Cranberry Margarita
Who doesn’t love a margarita and what can be more festive than cranberries? For the I style, this Cranberry Margarita is not only full of amazing flavours it is full of fun to make and is eye-catching. In the end you’ll create a beautiful bright red cocktail that guarantees a fun Christmas Party is to be had.
The recipe serves 4 so grab some friends!
- 1 tsp clear honey
- Finely grated zest and juice 1 orange
- 1 tbsp coarse sea salt
- 1 tbsp granulated sugar
- 200ml tequila
- juice 1 lime
- 200ml cranberry juice
- 50ml triple sec
Equipment: A fine brush and a cocktail shaker.
Using the fine brush (make sure it’s clean), lightly paint a thin layer of honey around the rim of 4 margarita or martini glasses. In a separate dish, combine the orange zest, the salt and sugar, then turn the glasses upside down and dip them into the mixture you have created, coating the rim. Put the glasses in the fridge to chill.
Now, for the fun part! Combine the orange, cranberry and lime juice, the tequila, triple sec, and some ice in your cocktail shaker. Shake it (like you are a professional mixologist) to properly ensure all the flavours come together! When the shaker starts to feel icy, pour your mixture through a strainer into your prepared glasses and serve!
S Style – Gin Party Punch
A punchy, deep purple cocktail that can be shared with a crowd! Serving eight people, an S style can celebrate their parties by taking the time to make and perfect these delicious drinks for all their guests to love.
- 400ml gin
- 180ml Chambord black raspberry liqueur
- 160ml pomegranate juice
- 4tbsp ginger sugar syrup from a jar of stem ginger
- Grated zest and juice 2 limes, plus extra wedges
- 320ml, or more to taste, chilled peppery ginger beer (like Fentimans)
Grab a punch bowl and half fill it with ice. Pour over the gin, Chambord, pomegranate juice, ginger syrup, and lime juice! Stir it well to blend together all your flavours. Add a few lime wedges and top up with your ginger beers (make sure you taste it and add some more ginger beer if you think it is necessary).
Serve your cocktail into 8 punch glasses or tumblers making sure that everyone gets enough ice. Garnish your creations with lime zest to finish off your tasty Christmas cocktails.
C Style – Champagne Jelly Shots (with pomegranate)
This is quite a showstopper and some skill is required for this one, but we are confident you can do it!
A fun drink that will take a fair bit of work. Ensure you are well prepared and take your time with these carefully crafted cocktails. This is a great way to show off your hosting skills and guarantee that your party-goers will have an enjoyable and fantastic start to the night. It serves a total of 18 people so make sure you have enough shot glasses.
What you need is:
- 500ml Champagne or sparkling wine
- 65g granulated sugar
- 1 packet (7g) powdered gelatine
- 450g pomegranate bursting boba (other flavours are available!)
- 80 mls whipping cream
- 2 tablespoons white Sprinkles
- Gold edible stars
- 18 sprigs of rosemary (about 1 ½ stems)
Equipment: Have to hand a saucepan, electric mixer, a pour spout, and a piping bag or zipped up bag that has the corner cut (I did say it would take some skill!).
Pour the champagne into the saucepan. Remove two tablespoons and place into another bowl, where you will sprinkle over the powdered gelatine, put it to one side and leave it to set/bloom (about 1 minute).
Pour the sugar into the saucepan and heat up the champagne and sugar, constantly stirring until the sugar is completely dissolved. Make sure that it does not boil! Add the bloomed gelatine and stir until melted. Let the mixture stand until room temperature (approx. 20-25 minutes). Once, barely warm enough to touch, transfer the mixture into a glass measure using the pour spout.
Drain the boba in a sieve and place them on a paper towel. Evenly divide spoonfuls of boba into the 18 shot glasses. Pour the champagne over the mixture (ensure it has cooled enough otherwise it will pop the boba) and place in the fridge to set – this will take around 2 hours.
In the bowl of your electric mixer, beat the heavy cream into soft peaks. Transfer into the piping bag and pipe the whipped cream on top of the jelly. Sprinkle the white sprinkles and gold stars on top and place them back into the fridge until you are ready to serve.
Just before serving, if you want, you can garnish your Christmas creations with the sprigs of rosemary – the choice is yours!
