We at DISCsimple believe that emotional intelligence (EI) is one of the most important elements of any organisation. Business owners should encourage their team to educate themselves on what emotional intelligence is and what it means to be Agile.
EI has been proven to impact you personally and at work, reaching your productivity, performance, chances of promotion, and your salary.
But don’t just take it from us!
Did you know that emotional intelligence is considered a core skill as of 2020?
Sheldon Senek in his article ‘8 Emotional Intelligence Facts That Influence Your Life’ states that there are eight core emotions that we need to be aware of:
- Joy
- Anger
- Anticipation
- Sadness
- Trust
- Fear
- Surprise
- Disgust
Being aware of these will help improve our emotional intelligence in our daily life, as well as leading to better performance, leadership, and personal growth. What’s more, is that you can improve your emotional intelligence as you go. With the right coaching, advice and most importantly practice, you can build your EI and stretch into mindsets that are not in your comfort zone.
Furthermore, emotional intelligence has been shown to have a 58% positive influence on job performance, with leaders who have empathy outperforming those without by 40%.
75% of the time, those with high emotional intelligence are more likely to be promoted over someone with a high IQ and despite 95% of individuals believing, they are self-aware only 15% of us actually are.
What more do you need to convince you to get our Agile EQ report?
Don’t be part of the 95% be one of the 15% and understand, stretch, and grow, your own emotional intelligence score!
