DISCsimple and hgkc are back once more announcing the return of their annual competition One Good Turn…!

Our competition started January last year in response to the Coronavirus. We realised that businesses and their owners had made plans that the lockdowns had rendered impossible and left many wondering what they would do next. DISCsimple and hgkc teamed up with a view to offer businesses the chance to win our services. The mission is to help businesses recover from the fall out of the pandemic and we want to continue this mission this year!  

If you are a business owner with a business plan you can enter to win one of 2 fantastic prizes. 

As the world seemingly returns to normal and people are returning to their offices, we want to offer our support businesses and help leaders discover their team’s hidden superpowers! 

We will have two incredible winners with even bigger prizes worth £5000 each that include: 

‘People Are Your Superpower’ 

Worth £5000, you will win:  

• Engagement Multiplier benchmark survey* helping you discover where your company’s superpowers lie
• DiSC workplace profile for up to 6 Directors or leaders to learn more about your superheroes, 
• Executive coaching, followed by 
  15 hours of hgkc & DiSCsimple consultant time to analyse your results and prepare a plan to help you supercharge your people for 2022. 

The ‘Be Awesome’ Business Plan 

Worth £5000, you will win 20 hours of hands-on support from expert consultants, using some incredible tools to build and implement an Agile Focus Strategy for your business. This will equip you to make better unbiased team decisions, reduce uncertainty and move forward with confidence to explore new opportunities for your business in 2022. 

The competition is open now and all you need to do is download and complete our entry form and tell us in 250 words why you think you deserve to win. You can record your 250 words as a video or sound file or send it in as a written statement – it is your decision.  

The deadline for all entries is midnight, January 14th, 2022, after which we will judge the applicants and winners will be announced on January 28th, 2022, with prizes on offer starting in February.  

To be eligible for entry you need to be an independent SME. 

DISCsimple and hgkc reserve the right to award winners who we feel are most deserving based on your applications and the judge’s decisions are final.

Winners of One Good Turn… consent to participate in DISCsimple and hgkc PR which may include, video and podcast interviews and written content, at our expense.  

Guidance for Applicants to One Good Turn… 

About Judging 

All plans will be evaluated individually by the judges to draw up a shortlist and then judged by a panel from DISCsimple and hgkc. Submissions will then be scored out of 5 for the following categories: 

• Achievements – whether you are a start-up or more established, tell us about your wins. 
• Creativity – explain to us about your approach to solving problems.
• Team – tell us not just about your employees, but who else you work with. 
• Proposition – we are looking for a strong proposition that will deliver resilience.  
• Video/Audio/Text Supplementary – use the 250 words to persuade us of your entrepreneurial spirit. 

About you and your data 

We will keep your application and the information you share with us confidential.  

In the case your entry does not win the competition, we will retain your plan, video and any other additional information provided in line with our privacy policy.  

About your IP 

Feel free to leave out any sensitive elements. If you win the competition we work under NDA’s. 

Sharing feedback on your plan 

We will share each judge’s feedback with you, including the panel scores for short-listed entries.
