Following on from One Good Turn’s debut year’s success, DISCsimple and hgkc have decided to run the competition for the second year making it an annual event.  

Last year we had many excellent applications from a broad range of organisations in multiple sectors.

The Survive and Thrive prize – worth £4000 awarded the winners ZiaBia an Outcomes Map, a SOAP, and a DISC Profile with 12 monthly 1-hour meetings with an hgkc consultant. ZiaBia is a Global Corporate Event Management Company that works with corporate clients and support them with their event planning. They provided an amazing application and the judges agreed they were a worthy winner. 

The Supercharge Your Team prize was awarded to Mrs Potts Chocolate House. The prize consists of an Engagement Multiplier benchmark survey, DISC workplace profiles for up to 6 Directors or leaders and 2 and half days of DISCsimple and hgkc consultant time. Mrs Potts provided an incredible application that wowed the judges. They create amazing chocolate and have multiple shops where they sell their delicious recipes.  

Multiple other companies were shortlisted after a rigorous scoring process, these included: 

• All Things Web – a digital SEO agency. 
• The BD Consultancy – a business development service. 
• ker-Z Creative Design – a creative and graphic design agency. 
• MindHarp – a music-led approach to wellbeing. 
• Resource Centre – a go-to resource for job seekers.  
• Treen Coward Associates – a business support service. 

The judges were thrilled by the range of applications and said that despite the coronavirus pandemics and struggles many businesses were facing ‘there are so many incredible businesses who are adapting and creating new ideas for the future.’ They were impressed by these companies’ courage to enter the competition in order to develop and implement their innovations. 

It is very simple to enter:

Complete our 1-page business plan template and tell us in 250 words your vision for the future and why you deserve to win. Please use our template so that it’s a level playing field for everyone and ensures we score each plan fairly, but if you want to provide additional documents, please feel free to do so. You can record your 250 words as a video, a sound file or simply write them as a document – it is your choice.

The competition is now open, and the deadline for entries is January 14th, 2022. We will judge and announce the winners at an awards ceremony on January 28th, with prizes on offer starting in February.
